Becky Gallagher, PTA Pediatric Physical Therapy
Becky is a licensed physical therapist assistant who has focused most of her career on treating the pediatric population. Since high school Becky has known she wanted to work with children with special needs and help them achieve as much independence as possible.
She is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park where she received a degree in Kinesiology. She attended Carroll Community College to earn her PTA degree. Upon graduation she began working in PG County Public Schools treating children with various diagnoses and needs. She has worked closely with PTs, teachers, OTs, and motor development specialists in the school and outpatient settings. She sees that improving a child’s mobility and ability to explore his or her environment can have an impact on cognitive and social development. Becky finds satisfaction in knowing she can be a positive influence in the lives of children and giving families tools to continue a child’s growth in all areas. Although the majority of her time has been in the school setting she has also worked in the outpatient setting with both adults and pediatrics.
Becky moved to the area with her husband and three children from Calvert county in 2014. Her family keeps her busy but she enjoys every minute of it. When she does have spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, exercising and spending time with friends and family. She finds creative and fun ways to work with children at Delmarva Physical Therapy to promote physical independence and ultimately improve their self confidence and quality of life.
